Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we get asked most, answered properly. If yours isn't here, email sales@jungleuk.com or ring +44 (0)20 8531 3456 — we answer everything.

Delivery
What it costs, how long it takes, and what happens at customs.
How much is delivery?
UK standard delivery is £4.99 and UK express is £8.99. UK delivery is free on orders over £50.
International rates are calculated at checkout before you pay, so you always see the cost before committing to anything.
How long will my order take?
Orders are processed within 1–3 business days of payment, then:
- UK standard — 3–5 business days
- UK express — 1–3 business days
- European Union — 5–10 business days
- Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan — 7–14 business days
We don't process orders on weekends or public holidays, and delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees.
Which countries do you ship to?
The United Kingdom, Australia, the European Union, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.
We're adding more. If yours isn't listed, it's worth asking.
Can I track my order?
Yes. You'll get a confirmation email with tracking information once your order ships.
Tracking can take 24–48 hours to start updating after dispatch, so don't worry if it shows nothing at first.
Will I have to pay customs or import duty?
It depends where you are:
- United States — import duty is included in the price at checkout and prepaid for you. You shouldn't be charged anything further on delivery.
- European Union — we're not IOSS registered, so your local customs authority may charge import VAT and a handling fee before delivery. That's separate from what you paid us.
- Australia — no customs duty on orders under A$1,000.
- Everywhere else — duties and taxes are set by your own customs authority and are the customer's responsibility.

Returns & refunds
Thirty days, and email us before you post anything back.
What is your returns policy?
You have 30 days from receiving your item to request a return.
Please email us first at sales@jungleuk.com with your order number. Items sent back without requesting a return first can't be accepted — simply because we won't know whose they are.
What condition does it need to be in?
The same condition you received it in. For used surplus that means the condition described in the listing — we don't expect a sixty-year-old greatcoat back looking different from how it went out.
Please don't wash, alter or remove insignia from anything you intend to return.
Who pays for return postage?
If the item arrived faulty, damaged or incorrect, we cover it. If you've simply changed your mind, return postage is yours.
Please use a tracked service — we can't refund a parcel that goes missing on its way back to us.
Can I exchange something instead?
The quickest way is to return what you have and place a new order for the item you want. That way the replacement is on its way to you immediately rather than waiting on the return reaching us.
Unsure about sizing? Email us before ordering — military sizing isn't S/M/L and we'd far rather help you get it right first time.
My item arrived damaged, or you sent the wrong thing.
Contact us straight away at sales@jungleuk.com and we'll put it right. Return postage is on us in that situation.
Please check your order when it arrives rather than weeks later — it's much easier to resolve while the delivery is recent.
When will I get my refund?
We'll let you know as soon as your return reaches us and has been inspected. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method.
How long it then takes to appear is down to your bank or card provider rather than us — usually a few working days.
I'm in the EU. Do I have longer to change my mind?
Yes. For orders shipped into the European Union you have the right to cancel or return within 14 days for any reason, without giving a justification. That sits alongside our 30-day policy, so you get whichever is more generous.
Is there anything I can't return?
Gift cards, custom or personalised orders, and hazardous or flammable goods.
If you're unsure about a particular item, ask before you order rather than after.

The kit itself
Genuine or reproduction, what condition means, and how military sizing works.
Is your stock genuine military surplus?
Much of it is genuine ex-issue British military kit. We also stock some reproduction and commercial items, particularly where genuine stock no longer exists or is prohibitively rare.
Listings say which is which. If a description isn't clear, ask us before ordering.
What condition will my item be in?
Surplus ranges from unissued stock that has never been worn to genuinely used items with honest wear. Every listing states the condition, and the photographs show the actual item or the actual type.
Used military clothing has usually been worn by someone doing a physical job outdoors. We describe wear accurately rather than optimistically.
Should I clean it before wearing it?
Yes — we recommend cleaning any ex-issue clothing before use. It's been in storage, sometimes for a very long time.
Be careful with wool and with anything collectable: air it and brush it rather than machine washing. Our Guides & History section covers care properly.
How does military sizing work? It doesn't look like S/M/L.
It isn't, and that catches most people out. Military clothing is sized to body measurements — height, chest and waist in centimetres — rather than small, medium and large.
Our Size Guide explains how to read the labels. If in doubt, send us your measurements and we'll tell you what fits.
Can you help me identify a badge, or work out what my relative wore?
Very often, yes — it's one of our favourite parts of the job. Send a clear photograph and we'll tell you what we can.
There's also a guide to researching a relative's service in our Guides section, covering where the records are and what you can realistically find.
Do you sell weapons?
No. We sell clothing, insignia, webbing and equipment. We don't sell firearms, ammunition or bladed weapons.

Ordering & visiting
The welcome discount, coming to the shop, and supplying groups.
Is there a discount for first-time customers?
Yes — 20% off your first order. The code is shown on the site; if you can't find it, email us and we'll send it over.
Can I visit and buy in person?
Yes. We're at Unit 5, Forest Trading Estate, Priestley Way, London, E17 6AL.
If you're making a special journey for a particular item, ring ahead on +44 (0)20 8531 3456 and we'll check it's on the shelf and put it aside for you.
Do you supply cadet units, re-enactment groups, film and theatre?
Regularly, and we're set up for it — multiples in matching sizes and shades are exactly what a large stockholding is for.
Tell us what you need and the quantities, and we'll tell you what we can put together.
How do I get hold of you?
Email — sales@jungleuk.com
Phone — +44 (0)20 8531 3456
Address — Unit 5, Forest Trading Estate, Priestley Way, London, E17 6AL
Email is usually quickest for sizing questions or identifying an item, because you can attach photographs.
How long have you been trading?
Since 1978. We started on a market stall and have been in the military surplus trade ever since.
The website is the newest part of a very old business, which is why the range runs deeper than it first looks.
Still not sure?
Email sales@jungleuk.com or ring +44 (0)20 8531 3456. We've been doing this since 1978 — there is very little we haven't been asked.
